1950s Vintage ROOSTER brand Men's Red Skinny Square Bottom Necktie made of "EIRELOOM" a 50% Polyester, 35% Rayon and 15% Linen fabric woven in Ireland. The Rooster tag has been clipped but the reverse of the material tag reads "WPL 13303" which was Rooster's FTC number. A Fun Fifties Tie in Great Shape!
Rooster was started in the 1930s by Jerry Meyers. They introduced their signature squared end tie in the 1950s making mostly "conversational" novelty printed ties, with quirky images or themes that were more for fun than formal wear. The white rooster label dates to the late 50s and early 60s. Later the tag would be navy or black, then the logo would change. Meyers sold the brand in the 1960s and has since worked for Nautica, Burberry and Ralph Lauren designing ties.
