A great gift for the Vintage Gentleman! Nice Mid Century Modern Mad Men Era Cufflinks set circa 1950s signed by ANSON. A nice large heavy cufflink set featuring pink and black horse head cameos in gold tone metal settings with black highlights. The set includes two cufflinks with bullet back closures; a torpedo, or bullet shaped, capsule that is suspended between two posts. The bullet can be flipped on its axis to manipulate it through the button holes in the cuff, and then flipped to secure the cufflink on the shirt. The cufflinks are quite large and measure approximately 7/8" square. Both pieces are marked "ANSON PAT PEND" on the cufflink posts in block lettering.
Anson founded as the Anderson Tool & Die Company in 1938 by Olof Anderson who was a Swedish immigrant to America making items for jewelry manufacturers. During WWII the machinery was adapted to milling machines and entered into war production work. In 1945 Anderson formed Anson Incorporated and began men's jewelry production. In the early 1960s "Anson" began using script instead of block letters for their logo.
