A great gift for the photographer! Very nice 1950s Men's Vintage Silver Tone Cufflinks and Tie Bar Set made by SWANK in the form of Vintage 35mm cameras with flash bulbs! A novel set in fantastic condition, looks unused! The set consists of 2 silver tone cufflinks with brown painted faux leather bodies and rhinestones set into the lenses and flash bulbs! The cufflinks have bullet back closures; a torpedo, or bullet shaped, capsule that is suspended between two posts. The bullet flips on its axis to manipulate it through the button holes in the cuff, and then flips to secure the cufflink on the shirt. The matching tie bar / tie clasp / tie clip has a strong clip on reverse to hold it to tie. The set is still in its original vintage black presentation box with gold detail. The satin lining inside the box has lettering reading "Men prefer SWANK". Each piece of the set is also impressed with the word "SWANK".
Formed in 1936, Swank Products, Inc. made accessories for men and began manufacturing gun parts during WWII as well as award items like purple hearts and bronze stars. After the war Swank expanded into other areas, including fragrances, wallets, belts and other accessories for men. In the 1950′s and 60′s, Swank, Inc. began acquiring other brands in order to continue expanding and today a number of recognizable brand names are owned by Swank, Inc., they include Guess?, Liz Claiborne, Geoffrey Beene, Tommy Hilfiger, Kenneth Cole, Nautica and Chaps.
This high quality men's accessory set by Swank is in excellent condition. The original box is also quite nice. The box measures 4-1/4" long by 2" deep and 1" tall. The cufflinks measure a LARGE 7/8" across. The tie bar measures 1-3/4" in length.
A beautiful set for the vintage gentleman!
