A great gift for the Vintage Gentleman! Beautiful Mid Century Modern Mad Men Era Cufflinks circa 1960s signed by Anson.
Anson founded as the Anderson Tool & Die Company in 1938 by Olof Anderson who was a Swedish immigrant to America making items for jewelery manufacturers. During WWII the machinery was adapted to milling machines and entered into war production work. In 1945 Anderson formed Anson Incorporated and began men's jewelery production. In the early 1960s "Anson" began using the script letters for their logo which are used on these cufflinks.
Each of these large, flashy cufflinks features a large gold tone metal square with diamond cut edges which really catch the light. The cufflinks are a "wrap-a-round" style, that is they have a band of metal mesh that wraps around the side of the cuff. The cufflinks have bullet back closures; a torpedo, or bullet shaped, capsule that is suspended between two posts. The bullet can be flipped on its axis to manipulate it through the button holes in the cuff, and then flipped to secure the cufflink on the shirt.
These terrific cufflinks are a large size, with the faces measuring 11/16" square. The cufflinks are quite well made and both are marked "ANSON". A fun men's accessory set in nice shape! Our cufflink sets include a handmade paper gift box with cotton lining and make a great gift for your favorite vintage gentleman!
