A great gift for the Vintage Gentleman! Beautiful Mid-Century Modern Mad Men Era Cufflinks and Tie Tack / Tie Pin set circa 1960s signed by DANTE. Dante manufactured primarily high quality men's jewelry and accessories in the 1960s (a division of Shields Inc). Cufflinks were often set with real semi precious stones like Lapis, onyx, agate and jasper or high quality crystal and Rivoli Glass. This large, flashy cufflink set features large square slabs of natural brown "IMPORTED STONE" in Modernist gold tone metal settings. The set includes two "wrap-a-round" cufflinks, that is they have a band of metal mesh that wraps around the side of the cuff. The cufflinks have bullet back closures; a torpedo, or bullet shaped, capsule that is suspended between two posts. The bullet can be flipped on its axis to manipulate it through the button holes in the cuff, and then flipped to secure the cufflink on the shirt. The tie pin has a smaller square brown stone slab on a gold setting matching the cufflinks and has a gold tone clutch backing to secure it to the tie as well as small gold chain with a "T" shaped piece goes through your shirt buttonhole, attaching the tie to your shirt. The pieces are marked "DANTE" and are quite well made! A great early men's accessory set in excellent unused or barely used condition! The cufflinks are a large size, measuring 3/4" square. The set still retains its original brown leather and gold presentation box with snap closure which is marked "DANTE Made in U.S.A." A beautiful set for the vintage gentleman!
