A great gift for the vintage gentleman! Very nice 1960s Men's Vintage Silver Tone Cufflinks Set made by SWANK from their "Arts of the World" series. A novel set of cufflinks which feature large round Delft Ceramic Tiles hand painted in Holland with portrait of musician. The settings are silver toned with a bullet back closures; a torpedo, or bullet shaped, capsule that is suspended between two posts. The bullet flips on its axis to manipulate it through the button holes in the cuff, and then flips to secure the cufflink on the shirt. The set is still in its original vintage black velvet presentation box with metal globe on lid. Each piece of the set is also impressed with the SWANK "S" in shield mark.
Formed in 1936, Swank Products, Inc. made accessories for men and began manufacturing gun parts during WWII as well as award items like purple hearts and bronze stars. After the war Swank expanded into other areas, including fragrances, wallets, belts and other accessories for men. In the 1950′s and 60′s, Swank, Inc. began acquiring other brands in order to continue expanding and today a number of recognizable brand names are owned by Swank, Inc., they include Guess?, Liz Claiborne, Geoffrey Beene, Tommy Hilfiger, Kenneth Cole, Nautica and Chaps.
This high quality men's accessory set by Swank is in excellent condition. The original box is also quite nice. The box measures 4" long by 3.25" deep and 1.5" tall. The cufflinks measure a LARGE 1-1/16" across.
A beautiful set for the vintage gentleman!
